Movado

Movado's history began in Switzerland in 1881, founded by Achille Ditesheim, growing from a pocket watch workshop into a major manufacturer known for innovation, adopting the name "Movado" (Esperanto for "always in motion") in 1905, and introducing iconic designs like the curved Polyplan (1912) and the minimalist Museum Dial (1947) by Nathan George Horwitt, which became a modern design icon. After surviving the quartz crisis, the brand was purchased by the North American Watch Corporation in 1983, continuing its legacy of Swiss craftsmanship and design.
