Enicar

Enicar, founded in 1913 by Ariste Racine and Emma Blatt in Switzerland, became a respected watchmaker known for durable, quality timepieces, especially popular for their adventure-focused Sherpa line used by explorers and adventurers, including on Mount Everest in 1956. Despite early success, the quartz crisis hit hard, leading to near bankruptcy in the late 1980s; the brand name was later acquired by a Hong Kong company, Wah Ming Hong Ltd., which continues to operate it today, focusing on the Asian market.
