About Cartier
Found as a Parisian jewelry house in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, but the brand became a watchmaking pioneer when Louis Cartier designed the first modern wristwatch, the Santos, for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1904, allowing him to check time while flying. Subsequent generations expanded globally, establishing iconic designs like the Tank (1919) and Pasha (1933), solidifying Cartier as a leader in luxury timepieces known for elegance, innovative design, and royal patronage, eventually becoming part of the Richemont Group.
