Breguet

Starting in Paris in 1775 with Abraham-Louis Breguet, is a story of watchmaking innovation, creating iconic pieces for royalty like Marie Antoinette (the famous "No. 160" watch) and Napoleon Bonaparte, and inventing major complications like the tourbillon (1801) and shock absorption (Pare-chute in 1790). After Breguet's death, the company passed through various hands, enduring changes and periods of decline before being acquired by the Swatch Group in 1999, which revitalized the brand while maintaining its classic designs and high-horology focus from its Swiss manufactory.
